What should i do please help!

Postby dazza96 on Tue, 30 Jul 2013 5:17 +0000

Hey guys i need some help on what to do about my wheels,

Currently on my 1989 hilux are A/Ts dont know what size but i do know they are so skinny ( which can be a good thing, but i dont like the look)

I have a set of 33s in my shed that are second hand and i got when i purchased the lux.. Should i put them on?

heres my concerns

1. Its a 2.4 Petrol hilux so will it go even slower.... And use even more fuel.....?
2. Will it put more pressure on my diffs, gearbox and engine.....?
3. I dont think 33s are legal in QLD but have seen many people with them on..
4. Its a old car so things are allot older then later luxs on this forum, Still all in great condition ..

What do you guys think I would love to have 33s on but dont want strain on my engine and the cops hassle me..

Should i chuck them on or stick with my skinny A/Ts

Cheers :)

Yes will go slower and use more fuel
Yes will put more stress on your drive line components and steering
Legal for some cars, depends on the manufacturers reccomendation. Unless you get an anal cop then 33's wont matter them
Is old but probly last longer then some of these new hiluxs

Id trial your 33's. If you like them then run your skinnies down untill they are worn out then throw on the 33's. If you dont, sell them and put the money towards some 31's
Just my Opinion 8-)

Remember size dosn't always matter, its not how deep you go fishing but how you wiggle your worm. Well thats what i keep telling myself anyway ;) :?

BTW enough oil on the ground and almost anything will pull a smokey burnout
