Tyre size query. 33'' 16 vs 33'' 17

Hi guys.

Just a quick question. At the moment I own a 2012 sr5. I'm running 16x8 0 offsets wrapped in 285/75/16 (33'') the vehicle is also fitted with a 2inch ome lift. After trimming all the necessary bits it still rubs the bodymounts on full lock. And quite bad when ggoing hard through some rough stuff. Especially under compression.

Anyway I decided to purchase 17 inch FJ cruiser rims to use as a daily and when I'm going bush I'll put the 16x8's back on. Long story short I read somewhere that you can fit a 33'' inch tyre on these FJ cruisers rims and it won't rub anything due to the +15 offsett. Is this true?

I do believe it was Hilux Max who made this claim?

Any info would help greatly.
