1985 Dual Cab 4WD tyre size

Gday guys,

I've got a mate who's just bought a 1985 dual cab 4WD however there's no tyre placard attached to the door or door jam. Just wondering if anyone has one and can tell me what the factory specified tyre size is? Failing that does anyone have any links to where the information can be found? I've searched everywhere and can't find much. Rang Toyota and they weren't much help either.

From the Gregory's workshop manual for 81 to 88 models tyre size could be either

7.00-16 8 PLY LT (Split rim type)or

205 SR 16 and 205 R 16C-6PR. I suspect the latter two are from the sr5 models and 4 Runner.

Stock tyres on all 84-88 models were 205 16's

SR5's have chromed steel wheels and the base model has steel splits.
