Speedy Grande rims I or II

Looking at getting some new rims onto a white SR

Now the hard decision Speedy Grande rims I or II.

The II look nicer, and dare i say tougher! Whats your thoughts, the shop said they can fit them onto the SR no problems?

(Silver machined, or black will be next).


Oh wait for it... the rubber has been organised Cooper ST maxx!!

I prefer the 11. It depends on the look you are after but IMO the 11 look more traditional 4wd

My pick is the Speedy Grande 1 or the original prado copy. I just put the grande 1 on my SR5 and I couldn't be happier. I can't stop going into the garage to look at them. I went with the 2 inch EFS lift and BFG All Terrains. Rides a lot better and sits much higher.....actually a proper ride height for a 4x4........no regrets.

I got the originals. I think they look the goods. Mind you im torn between keeping or selling them as i have used mine once or twice in 12 months with Muddys on. Running 17's with AT's as daily runners now in equivelent sixze.

Check out the Genuine Accessory rims from your local Tojo dealer that were available for the 120 series Prado. They are 17", and look pretty chunky (6 wide spokes). I have them on my 06 & had them powder coated black. Look tuff (I think !!!!) if they still have them available they would be looking to move them on as they don't fit the new 150 series.

Hahaha hmm genuine secondhand looks tempting, but then rubber becomes more expensive and rubbing occurs (shouldn't be an issue with a 2inch lift though?).

Just for comparison sake - speedys are $180 ea
Toyotas would be proably $250 a corner one would imagine?

Ive been looking at the speedy grande wheels 16x7 for my sr too. Are they a good option for use on a 4x4 or should i try and find a set of steel rims. How strong are the off road. Its going to be a daily driver but will be bush and off road every chance i get.

I've had them for 7 months now, and don't have any noticeable scratches. Have been offroading a dozen times or so.... which includes a few rocky climbs/descents and I use my car as a daily driver.

I have no regrets getting them!

Yeah thanks. Best price i can get is 235 a rim. Might look for a second hand set of alloys
