i have 32's on a standard 04 with the sr5 wheels with a 0 offset with no scrubbing ever, my brother runs 2 inch sus 2 inch body and runs 315 75 17 on a negative offset 17, 17 by 9 inch wheels :D

Might as well give an update to my setup,
Still got the BFG's A/T 285/75/16 on 0 offset rims with a proper wheel alignment (max castor) and it does not scrub at all anymore.
only running a 2 inch body lift, no suspension lift.

I upgraded wheels and tyres a few months back now running a 285/75/r16 MTZ on a neg twelve DC2 rims removed front mud flaps panel beat the pinch weld two inch lift no sway bar. I get a little scrubbing at three quarter lock on full compression

yeah I need to take the sway bar off, that had about 8mm left till the LCA hit the bumpstop and im sure the bump stops on these compress further. hows the onroad feel with no swaybar?

Also I'd recommend this if you guys do a 50mm body lift

it saves you lengthening the gearstick (saves welding) or bashing the floor pan till it fits.
On the plus side you get a short throw as well.

I took the sway bar off pretty much the day I got it felt a bit boat like onroad. When I did the suspension lift and changed shocks fixed it back up drives pretty good I don't really notice it anymore and no one that has driven it has said it's bad to drive.

33'' mud tyres and 15'' rims on LN106

hi guys

looking to fit 33''x12.5 tyres to my ln106 have been looking at maxxis Mudzillas and mickey thompson baja claws and was interested to know what ppl who have tried them think of them, and is there any others i should be looking at?

also what offset and width 15'' rim should i run to fit these, would like my track to be increased by 2-3'' each wheel any help would be great thanks

im running a 2'' body lift and a 4'' suspension lift. efs leafs. single cab ute with tray

15x8 not sure on te offset if it's a solid axle. My guess would be zero offset of a negative offset if you have flares.

I've just fitted 265/75/16 and there's no scrub on full lock. The wheel only just touches the mud flap when on full lock and I don't have any suspension/body lift other than aftermarket torsion bars wound up :lol:

I'll remove the mud flaps so they're out of the way

What's the best way to prevent the idler arm scrubbing? 2" sus 2" body fairly negative offset and 33x12.5 km2s. No rubbing at the rear of the well but hits the idler arm. Would a closer to zero offset be the go or is a 12.5" wide tyre jus too big for these?

You'll just have to adjust the steering stopper to stop it scrubbing, means less turning circle. a negative offset would help but you may run into other problems like the tyre scrubbing on the inside guard on full lock and compression.

zero offset is perfect from my trials.

yes but it will also bring it closer to the guard on the inside tyre thats turning.
you might have trouble keeping the tyres within the guards with a neg offset.
noticed your display picture is a 05+ model. if it is, its a rather different ball game. this thread deals with "pre 05"

Yep aware of that that's my old truck got a cruiser now and looking at an 03 lux that's got the setup I mentioned. Took it for a drive today and it scrubbed pretty hard on the idler so just seeing if I can fix it or if smaller rubber is needed. Keepin in the guards isn't an issue

285/75/16 will be perfect. skinny 33 basically. i just adjusted the steering stopper so its less of a turning circle so it doesnt rub.

Yea wonder if a 32x11.5 would look better being that little wider than the 285. Also it's already got 15" rims...

Drop down to a 33x11.5
Seems to be the norm, I'm running that size and find it ok,
Just remember, it will be a slug with it without the 33"

Just to add to this, you will have a hard time trying to fit a 285/75/16 (33's) onto a IFS Hilux (pre 05) on 2" suspension lift kit. I've had to cut and hammering back some of the inner guard. I was able to fit them on mine but they still scrubbed and hit inside on full lock which was annoying. I haven't dared to take it offroad yet and the new tyres have been on for 2 weeks now.

I have the tyres on 16x8 rims with a -22 offset. The -22 offset definitely helps so you don't hit your idler arm and also swaybar. I've just had a 2" body lift done today and I'll be picking the beast up tonight so I'll be able to post up pics later.
