I know that this topic has been done over and over for the post 05 hilux read all 17 pages when was thinking of upgrading but I have decided to throw some coin at this one and keep it instead of getting a new one.

So I have raised my car about two inches and am running 31/10.5/15 mtz at the moment want 33 looking at DC classic they only come in a -33 so will these work any help will be appreciated.

you will scrub. no doubt about it.

i have an 04 lux raised 3 inches and i do scrub with my 32s.

the only problem is where the mudflap is. no matter what your offset you will either touch there on 3/4 lock(outside of wheel) or on the chassis at full lock(inside of wheel) id do on 32s i cant imagine how bad 33s will be

you would need the snake racing 4' lift which is pretty exyy, 2" body lift would get you there with o degree off set, not sure about you -33

I can get a zero offset but would have to go to a r16 tyre which isn't a hassle but would this be the best offset for a 33.

this would be best because the 285/75r16 (33" for 16" rim) is alot narrower than the actual 15" 33

33x10.5x15 fit with factory +10 offset running 40mm of lift. all thats need is remove the front mud flap and hammer back the guard. the rear will foul on the flares so they will need a trim and if they dont your rear spring arn't working properly

I don't have standard rims thought I have alloys off the new models with spacers on there they were on when I bought it that's why I want new rims but if u say pos ten will fit I might see if I can find any that I like in a pos ten

I had 33's on 80 series land crusier rims on my last 98 dual cab,,,,Look at my shed or build thread and you will see it..........
Wound the torsion bars up just a bit and was running stock rear springs......not much scrubbing after nocking the seam on the fire wall flat...

Its all in the offset....if you get the wrong off set then you need a big hammer to fit big tyres,,,But if you get a offset that suits (maybe not the style of rim you want) you can go bigger tyres...

I'd rather the biggest tyre than the best looking rim,,,,,,,,Rims make the ute look good BUT bigger tyres make the ute look tough ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,some times tough is better and gets you further up the tracks

Will 285x75x16's fit on my 2002 hilux with a 2" body lift as well asmy current 20mm lift? Or if i wound the torsions up another 10mm?
Will i run into any trouble with the body lift? Besides the usual bullbar and radiator brackets?

I have 32's with a 2inch sus lift, I had them on before I got the lift, just had to remove the front mud flap and love tap the inner guard a bit no dramas.

I'm running 15x8 on a 0 offset which have seemed to work perfectly, I'm in the process of looking for new tires, but I think 33's are just that little bit too big unless I get a body lift, and my engine and diff will suffer (already rebuilt the engine once)...

stick to the 32's IMO unless you run a 33x10.5 which look what too skinny for me...

Hi all, sorry to bring up an old thread.

I have got a 98 extra cab and want to run a 32 inch tire (would love a 33 though).

I have only got a suspension lift although I have trimmed about half off the bump stop off and wound the torsion bar up to the point where there is about a 10mm gap when sitting on level ground. Im guessing about a 2.5 inch lift maybe.

If I put on a 32 inch tire will I need to trim any guard away? I know you do with a 2 inch lift and also what would be the most positive offset I could get away with if I do a small amount of trimming?

Do they scrub at all? Looking to fit 32s on my 04 sr5, hoping I can do it with just 2 inch suspension lift, trying to avoid a body lift at this stage.

Would I be able to fit a 32 with my current lift if the mudflaps and a small amount of trimming? I am not real keen on body lifts on a hilux due to their narrow stance.
I'd love to see the photo of your hilux.

If you think that I wouldn't be able to fit a 32 with my current lift and I chose to do maybe a 1 inch body lift would this allow enough room to fit in the 32?

Hey guys need some help. Am not 100% mechanically minded.. But would like some advice with my 04 lux. It has a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift. I went and put 33" x 12.5 on it. And it now bottoms out? And scrapes on full lock. Should I put 3" body lift? And space the wheels out to fix these problems?

spacing the wheels will make the problem worse. i assume you are scraping on the back of the wheel arch. therefor you have to put a lower offset wheel on.

definatly no more than 2" body lift. try winding your torsion bars up a bit more. might fix the problem

check your off set. 0 or narrower is the way to go

just a bit of input on this.
I'm running 285/75/16's on just a 2" body lift.
front mud flaps are still there although a lot of it has been trimmed and siliconed so it holds in place.
the rear seam of the front guards have been hammered flat and bit of the rear of the front flares have been chopped, also the guard itself at the bottom has been hammered in.
used to scrub a bit on full compression offroad but since then have chopped a bit more of the flare out (yet to test)
full lock right turn scrubs a tiny bit on the idler arm.
wheels are 16x8 Zero offset. maybe a -10 offset might stop the idler arm rubbing.

so for those guys wanting to run 32's 2" lift should be fine and remove or retrim the front mud flaps.

body lifts are easy and cheap! if you guys need info on what to do on a kzn165 i can let you know
