YOu'd probably be much better off to take some indicative photos, and some more clear description of the problem.

But on the face of it, it sounds like you've bought a hilux with a bent chassis. Either from a very large impact / accident, or some other abuse.

Either that or something whacko with the installation of suspension, tyres, perhaps take it to a good alignment centre and have castor , camber, etc etc all laser checked. They'll tell you quick smart if you've got a life-sentence type problem or not.

200mm is a F**K LOAD...i would say something is very bent...i was gonna say maybe the U-bolts are that loose that the axle housing walked but if it walke 200mm the spring would be rubbing on the tyre

I wouldnt be jumping the gun just yet, in all honesty I would lean (no punt intended) with Dans suggestion first. Ive seen many a car, van ute etc with similar problems. Also just measure your front wheel from the tyre back to the guard on both sides to see if your front is out of alignment as well. Ive knocked my front out before something like 40ml and it drove like a crab as well. As a suggestion take it to someone like Pro axle and get them to check it out. Keep us posted and I hope its an easy fix
You could also measure from wheel centres front to back and compare both sides to give you an indication

Ive gotta agree with dan too, had a mate who whilst doing 120 down the motorway was having huge crab walks under acceleration got him to pull over and had installed lowering blocks and never checked the ubolts after installation were completely loose and just letting the diff wonder around... I'm guessing this is your problem..

had a mate who started 'crabbing' along the tracks and had broken someting (cant remember now  ) in the rear sussy.

Think you'd be very unlikely to have bent the chassis ;)
i know it's not a hilux but really.....WHO CARES!! We're all here for the same reason :D

gday
It sounds like you may have broken the locator pin for the diff in the leaf spring, replace it with a bolt or a new spring and away you go again.
