How can I make it work

Postby stooth88 on Fri, 22 Jul 2011 4:09 +0000

Hey guys, Im new to the site, and ive just bought my first hilux. Its a 4x2 and ive been told I cant/ shouldnt go the big muddies on steelies because it will affect my fuel economy and put my speedo out etc. I wanted to put 16x8 0 offset black steelies on it, what tyre could you chuck on them and keep the same sort of standard rolling diameter?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, or if there is anyone else with a car like mine, what have you done in regards to wheels for your hilux?

thanks, Stathi

you can still get steelies and a set of bfg all terrains in mayb a 245/65/16. that speedo reads under by about 10km/a so 245s youre speedo will still under read so o would worry about that but I'm not sure if they'd fit on a 4x2 coz theyr lower I think.. also you'll new to find 5 stud steel rims which might be a bit tricky
