single cab side step s

just got some single cab side step s for a o6 hilux the rear brakett s go on problem and are well clear of the chassis but the front one s bolt to the cab floor then come down out side the chassis frame which is so tight to the chassis that they will rub on the chassis is this how they should be or not . can some one help can some one post this in the right section ive posted it in the pre 2005 section when it s a o6

Put some PTFE between the parts that will rub. The steps on my Mark Three actually connect to the Chassis so are part of the Chassis and act as Nerf Bars.

The Steps on my MK6- AT35 are also connected like yours and are close but not rubbing. :)

i think my braketts have been made slighty two big i will see whot some other s say
