4wd wont engage

Postby chad27579 on Sun, 29 May 2011 5:17 +0000

Hi All,

I went out today and noticed that the 2000 luxy didnt have any drive from the front wheels. The light came on saying 4wd was engaged but it wasnt working. I have Vaccum sucking in all lines, i can hear the ADD motor but it just wont lock in. Any suggestions?

had that problem with an earlier hilux a few years ago and found out that when it went for a service the mechanic put the vacuum lines on the wrong way. not sure now what he did but i took one off and changed it around and it engaged. i think it was the something to do with the aircon line. not sure but that was what it was , wrong vacuum hose on the wrong pipe. try that.
