Just a thought, Hilux Max here did a fair bit of work on his N80 and would have been interested in regearing - check out this thread viewtopic.php?f=119&t=26631

Don't have to be a 4x4 specialist to know a shytload about Diff's

I never worked out if the rear has a larger ring gear than the front. Can anyone confirm this as It would be a great help as I'm about to order 4:88:1 ratios.

I installed the RD111 in the front can confirm that was 8".

They list RD232 for the rear which is a 8.9", whereas the Toyota Parts System lists the front and rear as being the same part number against my vin number.

I now know I have Type-B differentials.
