Vacuum issue - ADD system

Postby YejRev on Wed, 17 Jan 2018 2:40 +0000

Thanks in advance, ADD system not working on kzn ute, when I press the 4wd button I can hear the transfer case engaging, front prop shaft won't turn but front wheels will turn freely when jacked up.

Checked vacuum on both lines at diff end, it seems that in 2wd there is suction on the correct line only but with 4wd engaged there is suction on both lines? Does this mean the solenoid is stuffed? Is there some way this could be caused by an electrical fault?

Appreciate any advice cheers

My old ute (00 kzn165r) wouldn't engage 4wd turn out to be a broken wire, there was a small plug attached to the chassis rail in the engine bay passenger side. Wires went from the harness down to the front diff and one was briken right at the plug. Worth a look.

Hey mate, all resolved. It ended up being a stuck vacuum valve, just gave it a tap with a wrench with the 4WD button on and it worked! Thanks for our input
