Hey guys iv been trying to get to the bottom of this jingling noise. Iv run a tool over everything on the hubs, brakes and suspension but i cant find anything.
The noise kinda sounds like loose change. Its there when driving, coasting and rolling.

Something loose in the brake drum? Backing plate touching the drum or rotor. Which end of the car?

Broken leaf spring ?

Ear rings in the ash tray

Seriously, the seat belt latch came loose on my passenger seat and the whole assembly rattled when I drove. Took me weeks to find it.

Na no earrings lol. Will have a look into the brake drums. Not the leaves checked them all and they are fairly new. Nit the seat belts either. Not sure what end of the car. Cant really narrow it down, can only hear it with windows down.

Maybe backing plates on brake pads. They can make a high frequency noise. To fix apply light layer of silicone to back of pad and plate.

Does it go away when you apply the brakes? That will give you an idea whether its brake related

Not to sure i will check that on the way home today. If it is inside the drum i dont think it would be the backing plate squealing could be something broken off just rattling.

Cant really tell if it stops when im on the brakes or not

If your using alloy wheel nuts on steel rims thats the problem

Na just got standard wheel nuts so im guessing there steel

I've considered getting my mrs to drive the lux over rough roads while i strap myself to the under carriage to diagnose a particular tweety bird chirp squeak F*&KING SQEAK SQUEAK that I have. She wouldn't go for it.

Then i saw someoens sticker once that said "real 4wd's rattle" and thought, ok yep that'll do and am now at peace with that insidious yellow coloured little son of a b*7tch that hides in my chassis somewhere.

On the other hand... kids toys... they jingle jongle and bongle. hell one even said "hi, wanna be frieeeeeends" in the middle of a drunk blokes night the other day when i was trying to find some rolly papers in the hilux and accidentally put my foot on it (because of course the floor is the best place for toys to be left). kids who'd have 'em!

I have a tinging sound but I think it's injector related, when I push the pedal down.

I got my jingle jingle sorted today my mechanic adjusted the rear brakes because he thought the backing plate could have been hitting something very slightly.
