LOoks like they are functioning perfectly. It's a grease filled slide joint. Looks like the grease has mixed with some water though. They should be re-greased at every service.

Careful not to pump to much grease into the slip joint as it can lead to uni failure as the grease takes up the air space where it slips and puts excessive pressure on the uni's

I wouldnt have thought the spline on the front drive shaft should move that much considering the front diff is fixed? IFS lux isn't it? Broken engine mount? Front diff still bolted in place properly?

i would say coz of the power your making your engine is twisting in the mounts big time...coz as amitch888 said it shouldnt move at all...or yer broken mount...

I thought the front diff had rubber mounts ie would be able to move somewhat??

there brand new toyota genuine mounts, only about 2000k's old

My hilux is making just over 350rwhp at the moment.

I havnt had it in 4x4 for about a year but i turn the hubs to lock in the wet but dont actually put it in 4x4. Does that keep the front "lubed"?
