Postby Toyota~Hilux on Sun, 03 Jun 2012 6:48 +0000

Hey, I have a 03 dual cab 3ldt with an LSD rear, its clapped out so im wanting to put a lockright or lokka in it, so i need an open centre.
a mate of mine has a 95 4x4 hilux with open centre rear.
the diff housings are completely different, but are the centres interchangeable.

Sure you can't get a unit to suit your diff centre?

I have asked around. I know lockright auto lockers require an open centre carrier.
was told lokka do as well.
As they only replace the spider gears, not the while centre.
If anyone knows a brand that's replaces the centre id look into it.

4WD Systems stock a Lokka unit that goes into the LSD centres.
I'm waiting on them to get some in store.

Thanks mate.
I will be using my ring and pinion gears, in my housing. I have repaired a few diffs so should be ok.
thanks for the help.

ok, thats sounds good, their info on them sounds pretty good, iv read some good stuff about them across the forums.
what are they priced at?
lockrights are the cheapest iv seen, for around $365 but to save the trouble of swapping stuff around with other diffs to get an open center some more dollars wouldnt bother me.

I have good news :) there lokka will fit straight into a LSD centre!! No changing centre around.. And they are $498 and I live in north qld, they are in SA, and they will post for $20!!!
I will be def getting 1!! No more looking for an open diff centre haha
