i was looking at these and they sound pretty good thier lithium iron phosphate batteries and can be made into enough cells for automotive applications, long story short they are alot better sounding than lead acid batteries

-lighter
-smaller
-80% dishcharge vs 50% normal
-can be fast charged
-more energy
-safer
-more vibration resistant
-maintains output voltage until depleted, then has a alarm, you reset alarm and still enough to then start car

so on so on

just wondering if anyone has knowledge or installed these, mounting difficulties, costs and reliability

Mate, I know they cost a fortune!!!!

They are pretty inovative technology in the Dirtbike world, i know of a few people that have tried them and have also made their own (for bikes). This is where I got alot of my info from http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/show ... hp?t=65462

Supposedly they do pump out a lot of cranking amps, and are really light. commercially available ones for dirtbikes are about $150-250 compared to a gel/sla battery of $50-80.

As a comparison point the commercial LiFePO4 batteries are either 2.5 or 5Ah, the SLA batteries they replace are 7-12Ah, and because these LiFePO4 batteries are actually a little bit higher output voltage (13.5V, not much less voltage they require for charging) they generally crank engines over faster, and start easier. http://turntechbattery.com/TurnTech%20B ... lcome.html

So bearing that in mind if you want this for an Aux batteries and you currently have a 105Ah battery you could probably get a 60aH lithium jobby and get the same usability out of it.
