Hello all, been looking everywhere but can't seem to find the wiring diagram for the ignition switch, wanting to do some mods and install missile switches but can't work out which wire is which and want to make sure I get it right before I start cutting wires. (2003 single cab v6 petrol, VZN-167R)

Thanks.

Mainly talking about the connector that connects to the ignition barrel.

I think clarity might help, what are you trying to do? Tap into the accessories live or some such purpose? There are other much easier ways to get a live feed, for example fuse taps etc. If you explain what you are trying to do we may have a simple solution rather than cutting wires etc.

it will be spreed across 10 different drawings the way Toyota show their wiring diagrams.
It would be easier to buzz out the switch than find the 10 different drawings and look at them .

Im essentially trying to make it so the key is useless, and have the barrel connected to missile switches such as;
Switch 1 - Accessories
Switch 2 - Reds/fuel pump
Switch 3 (spring return switch) - starter motor

Big Job, but as Gipsy said, it'll be easier to buzz out each connection to the current Key Switch Barrel "WITH THE KEY OUT" to find out and then group each set of wires together ... THEN you have to decipher which set of wires does what jobs so you can connect them as you wish to the switch panel you're talking about.
Before you start however I'd talk to a "Pink Slip" Mechanic to see if this kind of mod is permitted in your state. I can remember 30 odd years ago in my 78 Patrol I did this mod and was told at Pink slip time "the vehicle was designed with a key switch, you must still use a key switch of some kind". This was in NSW. Please let us know how you go.

Definitely a big job, gotta find time as I'm already swapping suspension parts from one car to another, also luckily im working as an apprentice mechanic so I work with a Pink slip mechanic
