Identify pin sensor behind steering wheel

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can identify the sensor in the photos. Its directly behind the steering wheel.

Reason i ask is my car developed a scrubbing sound in the steering wheel when turning. Didn't think much of it and neither did my mechanic who just assumed it was a part of the plastic shroud rubbing.

Opened it up today and found that the gold pin sensor is rubbing against the gold ring on the steering wheel. The pin is spring loaded and connected to a green wire. You can probably sort of see the gold dust everywhere as a result of the scrubbing...

Thanks in advance!

Vehicle is an '04 Hilux SR KZN165r

Pretty sure that's your horn wiring.

A dob of solder on the end will smooth out the ring and stop noises. Done dozens of them.
