A/C Stopped Working LN106

A/C Stopped Working LN106

Postby znelbok on Fri, 10 Jun 2016 7:09 +0000

Hi Guys

All of a sudden, my A/C stopped working in my Hilux (Diesel 2.8L '92).

From initial inspection the clutch is not engaging. Everything else appears to be OK. Checked fuses, fan is still running, A/C switch light comes on.

Whats the next thing to check.

The A/C Amplifier is listed a a possible fault but real life experience can probably point me to the solution faster than going through the whole system (My Prado A/C stopped and the relay was common failure point).

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Mick

I know this is a topic long ago but I also have the same problem with my Hilux 2001. I've had it regased but the gas wasn't the issue. I'd like to know what the solutions are.

check first voltage to compressor with test lamp.
If no power, check pressureswitch and thermostat/deicesensor.
IF power, bad Ac clutch or plugged expansioinvalve or worn out compressor.
