Wiring UHF / Roof Console

Hi Guys,

I know the roof console is a popular discussion but I couldn't find any info on where you wire in power for the uhf.... My lux is a 13' sr5 dual cab and it doesn't have the mic up with the sunnies holder, instead it has power wires running from the centre light to power up the original reading lights. Is the wiring there sufficient to power up the uhf?

Just run a power supply from the console down the left windscreen pillar an under the dash and out through the gromet in the fire wall to the battery I mounted a fuse box under the left side of the dash

Not sure about UHFs but I know CBs draw very little even when transmitting

Less then a amp when monitoring and about 3 amps when transmitting

But I would still run a dedicated line straight to the battery

I did the same as others - ran a separate power wire up the left hand windscreen pillar and across to the console. I tapped it in to an accessory power wire under the dash so radios come on with ignition only.
