Warning lights staying on

Warning lights staying on

Postby Ihuntandifish on Thu, 18 Dec 2014 2:37 +0000

Hoping for some advise. Ive got a problem with a 1997 hilux with a 5l diesel . The battery light, handbrake light, and the fuel warning light are staying on when you start the car. The warning lights stay on even if the switches are disconnected and ive checked the switches with an ohm meter and they are working fine. Got me stumped. Anyone have any ideas.......

cheers steve

Could be right thanks. Just checked and not charging. Alternator belt is torn and a little loose so will replace tomorrow and hopefully fixes the problem but it is probably knackered as you suggest

Cheers steve.
