LED LIGHT BAR INSTALLATION

Hello, I have just gone out and brought
My self a 42 inch led 240watt light bar
I would just like to know how would I set the wiring so I can have a switch for my light bar and switch for my spot lights
.
My spot lights are wired
Which run to the relay, and has the switch wire going from relay to switch

I wanna know how would I put in another switch I need mt light bar to only be able to be switched on when high beams are on

I have tried drawing a picture of how I could wire it but I dont think you can wire the switch to switch as tbe light bar could be switched on with either switch

This may be a very simple job to do but I honeslty have no idea

Mcgivenator,

I saw that diagram before hoping it was going to be some success it would work for driving lights but I have a light bar aswell which I want to hook up to a different switch as I dont want the driving lights and light bar on at the same time especially for hunting purposes

Spotlight, work light, led light bar. Same same.

The most obvious way is duplicate what's there. You can't have 2 switches operate 2 lights independently on 1 relay so just copy what's done. Extra fuse, relay, switch, pick up high beam the same as the spotties. Just go to the light bar instead of the spotties. Make sense?

Thanks mate I think I have found a solution
It appears you shouldnt run your spot lights with your led bar going off the spottie wires this is over doing relay and screwing with amps. I decided though to buy a seperate relay just for my led bar that way I can put a inline fuse holder before the relay, and have the switch, power, negitive connected plus have a wire going from high beam into that relay. Making it so I can turn it on and off without both led and spotties being on. Il see how it goes but I think its a easier way of doing it

All good. I thought I'd bedder be more helpful and edited it. ;)

I think I get what you meen. You can piggy back the trigger wire for high beam from the spot relay but you'll need a separate power supply and fuse. And you want a separate switch?

Yeah thats correct I got new switches that I will be using. The only thing id be using from spotty relay is the high beam like you said just piggy back off it. But all the other wiring is all seperate and yes ill add a inline fuse.

Im just going to buy a 4 Pron relay that covers
Power, Switch, Led Bar and Negitive.

My Switch has 3 Prons
Head lights
Relay
Earth

Where does everyone run their 6mm cable if they mount it on roof racks?

People will find this in search.
Many Hilux years / models have negative switching. If you have automatic headlights your ute has gone back to positive switching.

A pic of how mine was mounted pre-bull bar, just because.

I used an 15mm electrical gland,
Drilled a hole in roof and ran cable through that, but with all roof mount light illegal, I wouldn't mount them like that as you'll no dought be removing it,
You can run out the top corner of door and up onto rack

I know each state is different which is BS but for most as long as it's mot behind the driver head it's fine. When is it it can interfere with the driver through the mirrors, I think thats their excuse. I can understand them not wanting them on top of bullbars cos of the pedestrian risk (as if the bullbar is gunna do enough!) But who's it gunna hurt being on the roof!
