Has my tail light fuse blown????

Has my tail light fuse blown????

Postby dazza96 on Fri, 23 Aug 2013 10:33 +0000

Hi guys,

recently i have switched trays from a standard alloy tray to a custom tray, this means i have had to change all my wiring at the back of the tray,
Im having problems with getting the left hand parking light and the number plate light to work, how ever the front left parking light doesnt work ether so im thinking it could be a fuse, What fuse would it be? 15A or 10A ect????

So basicly i am driving with only 1 light working at night time at the back, My break lights blinker lights and reverse all work fine.
So is it a fuse? Or is it my dodgy wiring?

Also i know the LEDs on the back of the tray are fine and not blown so it has to be something to do with the wiring or fuses,

Please let me know what fuse it would be asap as im planning on going out for a drive tonight.

Thanks

P.S my front head lights, and dash lights all work fine other then my left parker at the front,

Just have a look under your dash at the fuses bud pull each one out and have a look should be pretty obvious if one is blown

All the parkers are on the 1 fuse so if 1 is working then its not the fuse . Check your earths, Id say you forgot to connect one. Also, you mentioned leds. Are all your new lights leds?. Leds are polarity sensitive ie: positive to positive and negative to negative otherwise they won't work, where as a normal festoon (spelling...) globe doesn't care which way you hook it up, as long as it has power it will work.

The fuses at the footwell or under the bonnet?

Would you know what fuse the taillights are? 15A Is it?

Cheers

Bugger :?

From what you have said, I think you have at least 1 parker light working somewhere on the car. If this is the case, it won't be the fuse anyway. Put a multimeter or test light into the back of the light plug and see if you have any power there. If not just keep following the wires back towards the battery and see where you do have power and fix appropriately.

Mate I have the pre 05 lux however i put an aftermarket set of tail lights on my tray and did the same thing. To fix it I just had to earth one of the cables running to the rear left tail light.

Have a look at ur old tail lights and look for the differnce. Or just run a new earth and parker light to those effected lights from a working line. May just be easier to do that.
