Headlight parkers?

Headlight parkers?

Postby buggerlux on Mon, 22 Apr 2013 3:03 +0000

I have a 2007 Hilux and trying to find out what the smaller globes are in the sealed units are as they dont turn on.

They are parkers? Any reason why they may not come on? *scratching head*

Its a Toyota bullbar (ex-government)

They are a parker light. Check they are actually pluged in and have a globe in them. They have a separate plug on the back of the light. I put LED's in my bull bar and then pulled the globe out og the headlight parker as they were a real dirty white/yellow colour.

They are plugged in at the back. The globes are in. Maybe a fuse or totally disconnected.

I checked the harness and all good. Maybe govt disconnected when fitting the bullbar but doesnt make sense as lights sit 12 inches lower on bullbar.

I have a feeling, but it is dark, that the fuses have been removed for those globes but they are large fuses which makes no sense 20AMP

Looks like fuses were removed as spotlights removed prior to sale.

hey does anyone know much about the elctrical side of the new hiluxs?
i am looking to use my existing fog light loom on my sr hilux for my lightforce spotties. just dont know whether i need to replace my indicator stalk to sr5 for the foglight function and put a relay in the blank spot and just plug my spotties into the loom sitting at the blank foglight fill-ins, to save running cable

Mate,

No you don't need to replace the indicator stalk, but also no you can't run your spot lights off the fog lights.

Your spot lights have to be able to come on and off with your high beam, so pick up the feed wire off the back of the headlights, and you will need to run a relay and a override switch in the cabin, so you can turn off the spotties in the cases where you don't need them on.

Do a search on the forum, you will find a thread which tells you what wire to pick up from, be careful because the wiring in these new vehicles switches itself from a positive to a negative, so picking up the correct wire is very important.

Cheers
