installing fog lights with existing pre wiring

Hi Quinny,

My first thoughts were to wire the switch into the factory loom plug from the old OEM switch, which meant i can use the swicth as an on or off, at any time as long as park lights are on,

But i do know i can use the Ironman loom and drop the whole factory loom out of the equation all together... i just wanted to try and use the existing loom. Mines an SR5 so came with the FOGS already.

The 2 switches yeah ones for fog and ones for IPF's

I'm happy for them to work if switched on as soon as the parkers are on but also have the option of using the swicth as that was the idea

Could it also be that that PDF is for the D4D where as mines a V6 SR5 ?

hi all,

I have also tried wiring my switch in today (as shown on the previous page).

I started off by finding the 2J plug and pin 13. its green and black. It didnt matter if i spliced the yellow or the blue wire to pin 13, as soon as i earthed it with the black wire and turned the tail lights on the fogs would turn on also and the switch wouldn't turn them off. only the light in the switch would come on and off!!

Is there another way to wire them up to use the switch?

Cheers Metin.

Yours didnt come with factory fogs? But has the connectors in the front?

if so... use the EWD to find the parker wire and use that to splice into which I gather is what H20 did...

That is correct, strange isn't it. Do you think that i would have the led in the dash come on with the fogs? or is that a long shot??

So does the 2005 SR5 come (from factory) with all the gear needed to install the front fogs including relay etc... only minus the actual cabin switch, and the fog lights. is that right?

If anyone can fill me in on this, would be really appreciated. I checked out the wiring diagrams, have pulled the dash apart, and still cant figure it out. Want to avoid running new cable, installing relay etc if its already there.

hey mate yes they do mine is an 05 build sr5 and it's all there... you need to use the green wire at pin 13 on 2J to control the lights, run an earth into this junction (switched) to control their operation... lights will plug straight up to the looms taped up near the front bar

What is the Parker wire???? No pink wire in the stalk..
2J pin13 powers the lights and only turns on and off with the parkers. Switch doesn't work.
What is the solution that was going to be discussed???

I got it to work.
Blue wire to 2J pin 13
Yellow wire to 2J pin 12 not C8 as there isn't a wire in it on the 05/06

just want something cleared up. when every one says connect into the pink wire. is it a case of simply putting a switch in series so you can break the pink wire connection to activate the lights or do you splice into the pink wire with one side to switch and the other to earth :?:
See my face book page at. Custom canopies.
