headlight issue

headlight issue

My headlights keep blowing i have gone through 4 sets cause my headlight is a seal unit. 86 Ln65 it has a plug at the back with three prongs i tested them and im getting power to 2 out of 3 anyone shed some light and my dash keeps blowing fuses. ?

Check alternator voltage, maybe regulator has gone kaputski and you have over voltage. Should be 13.8 V. Also could be too much ripple, I think old alternators just had a capacitor on the output, probably need an auto sparky to check that unless you have a fancy multimeter.

Best thing u can do is get semi sealed lights. Then you've only got to replace the globe..

Yeah i got a mate who is a sparky looking tomorrow. So how do i go semi sealed headlights cause mine are sealed or can i pull the headlight apart ? i really wanna run hid

Have a look at ebay. They have a the standard rectangle head light with replaceable globe.

Is the fuse blowing as soon as you turn the power on or does it happen over a period of time?

I replaced the fuses while i was driving also can u send me a link for the globes your talking about please the ute has been off road for about 3 months when i got it back they were gone but they done it before also
