Winch issues help please ?

my positive winch cable got a bit shredded from being to long on the fan belt. I cut it rewired it fine but nothing happens!!!! checked all the wires were fine and connected. Earth everything still nothing tried both wireless and cord remote my battery is reading 12,7 enough to see if it works. was wondering what are everyone thoughts or opinions was thinking fuse also would the fuse if their was one be in the control box help would be awesome thanks.

Most likely a fuse or fusible link in the control box. Open it up and see.

yeah thanks opplock told me their isnt a fuse in the control box ?

Not sure because i have no idea about winches. This is the first one i have had i will pull the control box off next couple of days. And see how they modules or whatever look how would i go about testing them ?

Once you have the cover off out the way, just follow the cables in to each point and test for power as you go at each bare connection. You will need to have it connected obviously and the controller hooked up to test where the problem lies.

They seem really complicated if you haven't had much electrical experience put they are not really.

While your in there too could be a good idea to check connections and wiring between the solenoids inside the control box also!! Give them a clean with elec contact cleaner (remove battery terminal first and make sure they are dry before reconnecting) and make sure they are tight... Wires can offen be frayed or broken inside..

I had winch issues with my last usage. Prior to that it worked like an absolute trooper, but last time after my initial winch, (which I needed plenty more) it wanted to keep over heating. I probably need to put it into get serviced because if I was on my own Id still be there. Its a Warn 9000

So i got a 100 refund they would not exchange it. Opplock said they wouldn't charge me to see what the issue is.
