Too many accessories connected to battery!?

Too many accessories connected to battery!?

Postby stv091 on Sun, 14 Oct 2012 11:30 +0000

Hey everyone. My car battery positive is basically over crowded with all heaps of different accessories i have attached to the car over the last year such as power cables for my amp, my air compressor, fog lights, HID headlights etc etc and im sure there has got to be a better way than just connecting them all straight to the battery positive! It just seems bodgy and possibly hazardous? :S
Im no electrician nor mechanic but i was thinking maybe there might be some sort of jack attachment you could run off your battery, and then run all your accessories off that? similar sort of thing to a USB jack for a computer or a car cigarette lighter jack.
Just wondering what you all do with your accessories running off the 12V battery or how an auto electrician would connect them all up?

I have used the same thing. They are a 6 way Baintech fuse block. Also available in a 12way. See here (click me)

These seem like a great idea. Also mate. If you run a dual battery setup you could run your accessories of that. Like maybe run your hid spottys off that. Correct me if I'm wrong

Hey guys

Here is one I got from jaycar. $30 for 10 fuse positions.

This is just a bit of brass I had lying around. It helps when there is a winch involved. I use it for the winch. Fuse block and power to tray.

That Baintech jobbie looks to be a good quality problem-solver!

It's a good little unit if 30amps max per circuit is enough for what you're wanting to connect. (100amp total).

With the compressor drawing 60amp I will have to change some wiring around.
