oricom uhf 300 backlight

Hello everyone
I just installed an oricom uhf300 and after playing with settings and reading the instructions for over an hour,I still cannot get the backlight to Work?


Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? or have I gota dodgy one

from reading manual...
can you cycle through the different menu options until you get to the LCD backlight option?
screen should show ""brt on" < default setting (note its the brt not the "bcl" option)
rotate channel knob to switch between on & off
when screen displays "brt on"
press & hold menu button to save & exit changes, you've got 8 seconds to make & save your selection
(you might have to then turn radio off & back on for change to take effect(?))

is 'G' < default setting selected in the next menu option LED?

Yeah brt is set to on and the led is set to G, however still no light. The instruction say it's possible to change the brightness but I can't see how.

from what i could see in the manual the only option for brightness is on or off
only other thing i can suggest is;
you could try a factory reset page 20 of the manual & see if that works
otherwise email oricon or use their live help mon to fri

Sorted it out. It was a dud radio, got it replaced by the seller and works great.thanks for the comments.

Hi. Any idea how to change the colour of the back light display? Or is it just a matter of buying the colour that suits?
