Wiring loom

Postby Trent Stower on Sun, 16 Sep 2012 5:32 +0000

Hi all
I have a cheap set of spot lights mounted to my bullbar and I am about to upgrade to lightforce 240 blitz.

Just wondering if I would need to run new cables or if the existing loom I have will work with the new set of lights. Any assistance will be great as I'm lost with electrical work. Thank you

How's the condition of the loom that's there?
I'd say use it

It's 12 months old, installed by a professional. Would I possibly need to upgrade relays?

If the new spot lights are a larger wattage than the old ones then yes.... Upgrade the wires on pin 30 and 87/87A on ya relay..plus the fuse that supplies that circuit... pin 85 &86 will be fine as they only power the relay coil and draw bugger all. Remember dont put a bigger rated fuse in if the cables current capacity is less than the fuse protecting it.. (cable burns before fuse blows)
