HEADLIGHTS

Postby granta8082 on Fri, 03 Aug 2012 7:05 +0000

Hi guys, I found these on eBay and I'm wondering has anyone got these or can find and down sides the these because I have seen lights that are very similar but are twice the price.

Look at this on eBay:

Toyota Hilux 05-08 Black LED Projector Clear Headlights

Personally I'm not a fan of the cheap (tacky looking) LED runner lights. OEM BMW, HSV etc ones look good but ones like this don't, and attract attention in my opinion

I run a set of these - never hooked up the angel eyes as it's not my cup of tea

Unless you run HIDs then the low beam will disappoint, worse than stock. High beam is ok. Build quality and adjustment is ok as well.

Get them mate.
They look great on and quality is good. I had them from the same seller on my previous ute. It's the one in my avatar..
And I just bought them from the same seller again for my 4x4.. The seller has really quick postage too

Will post pics up when I install but that might not be for a couple of weeks. Waiting for my xrox and grill so I can do it all at once.

I reckon those led strips , even though they're now oem on all cars , make a car look like a cheap trick.

not humanely possible on your mightly lux mate ... wasn't meaning to offend! (tho I still don't like LED strips on the front of cars :) ... i did say all cars, by that i mean beamers, mercs, euros in general ... the latest series of HSV's look ridiculous .. in MY grumpy opinion :)

Haha
Each to their own I guess. I would prefer it if it was as bright as Audi or hsv ones though...

They are either Left hand drive headlights

or non ADR due to the bulb not having a deflector plate built in

Does all this matter that much? I never had any trouble with the police with my old ute which had the same headlights and neither with this one.

Probably alot to do with the age of the vehicle why you don't cop much flack

Some guys said they have good adjustment, but alot of LHD vehicles shoot the light off the road or into oncoming traffic more than they shoot straight

Deflector plate bounces the halogen globe back onto the reflector.. that is why guys are saying they are dimmer than original lights

I think you will find itl matter more for a roadworthy as the inspectors check for E mark (E in a circle) which is what they need to get an ADR certificate
