400 would have to be the fitted price. I can get them for 300 and only about 1 hr to fit. And yes the kit come with harness grommets brackets and full instructions

Hi,

I had Toyota hilux SR5 2012. I bought after market reverse camera from Ebay. The stereo unit as PZQ60-00531.
I followed instruction as above. The green wire from unit hooked up with red wire at the fuse box below steering wheel.
The reverse camera 12v power supply hooked up with reverse light. The video sender RCA pin hooked up at front unit socket CN4950.
When I tested on Line diag as shown:
conectivity check
-GPS OK
-MIC NG
-Rr_Cam OK
AUX NG
USB NG
Vehicle Signal check
ILL+ OFF
SPD OFF
PKB ON
REV ON

(During the test on line diaG))When reverse gear is engaged, reverse camera is working.
But come to start a car and run reverse gear....No display..!
What happpening...? any tip..? something missing to trigger the dispaly unit?

The camera has to be powered when the head unit boots up or it wont recognize it. Accessory feed the camera, not reverse light feed it. Try turning on the ignition when it is in reverse and see if you get a pic.

Thanks. I am very appreciate it.
The aftermarket reverse camera works perfectly!
I hooked up reverse camera to reverse light before.
It won't work.
Now, l left reverse camera negative terminal at reverse light negative power source and pulled out positive terminal hooked up at head unit socket CN1 (pin 3 grey wire : ACC1 input).
When the reverse gear is engaged, trigger display automatically.
The conclusion is aftermarket reverse camera has to be power first before head unit boot up.
Play and plug Toyota factory unit will function it to detect aftermarket reverse camera.
Remember small trick...!
All under cost $50....compare to Toyota Genius Reverse Camera big $$$$$

At tailgate door where normally Toyota Hilux SR5 2012 reverse camera location. But need extra spare led reverse light hooked at bottom step bar. Give more brightness at night time when the car is reversed.

Don't know if it is just the cheap cameras, mine was about 20 AUD, are crap at night, I have got two 17 watt caterpillar led work lights on the sports bar and the camera is still next to useless at night.

The camera cost $14.95 ( CMOS chrome type) from ebay.
I am agree that what u said, cheap scrap camera.
I haven't try to hook up 2 led reverse lights yet. Going to instal soon or change the led light bulb (current standard light bulb). Will it work... or improve night vision?
Any suggestion.. replace better quality CCD camera?

Hi MartynVella,

Have u try on setting of camera day/ night section?
I did try it ,work well very bright at night vision.
Switch on the car key at ON position (ignition switch). Put reverse gear on then press & hold audio button at head unit. The display will pop up. Disable auto dimmer/ manual adjust brightness & contrast. You can see day or night button at the top. Just play around with it.

Hi All,
I just upgraded the new reverse camera from ebay :
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400636238504 ... EBIDX%3AIT
The picture is brilliant and has a sharp image. This camera is the NTSC format and CCD Sony. The price is $45.72.
I strongly recommend it.
I hooked it up at the back of the tailgate door but for the camera , u need to do some work on it. Unscrew and unmount the case, loosen camera (rubber compound) with a flat screw driver (make sure not break wire) and reposition it to 180 degree. Finish it up with hot glue from the glue gun. Seal it properly.
