A bit of a development update on the high idle switch. I have finally located the parts I needed to produce an "on-the-fly" adjustable hand throttle. Been testing it in my ute for a week now, and going good so far.

At the moment I won't be adding this to the design of the 666 High Idle Kits that I produce, as the parts are harder to source and would add significantly to the cost.

so im goining to run 2x throttle pedals, one normal, one with a screw in hand throttle attached. the have 6pdt switches but the resistance of the switch itself may hinder the circuit, so im using relays;
1 cause of the reason above
2 hi idle on my winch controllers.
https://www.circuitlab.com/circuit/swpz ... t/540x405/
im goin to use 2x 3pdt relays ($4.20 with relay base) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280998792995 ... 449wt_1037
not 3x dpdt relays as per link. you can get 6pdt relays but they are $20-30
still tring to source the A19 plugs male and female. if any one has a contact at torqit on QLD that would be handy.
pedal position sensor is $100 from wrecker

Best of luck and hopefully it works.
Just a couple of things to consider. Your relays will have to switch very quickly and at exactly the same time. because if the computer senses a sudden drop or absence of signal from pedal it will through a code. It will also throw a code if the relays don't switch at the same time and there is a difference between the 2 circuits.

The good news is that it is almost impossible to fry the computer when you are setting up and testing the new curcuit, even if you directly short the wires, so it's pretty risk free. Just so long as our stick to the 5v of the pedal and don't feed 12v directly into the computer.

so do you think that i should go for the 6pdt relay?
parts are on the way (2x 3pdt)
will test and see

If the parts are already on the way, then give the 2 relays a go. You can't do any damage.
I assume that they are 5volt relays no 12volt?

the coil side of the relay is 12v, not 5v, have a look at diagram im using, 2x pedals (veh and one for the hand controler), the relay is used to switch from one pedal to the other. the power for the pedal comes direct from the loom.

If you're using the hand throttle like that, doesn't that mean you couldn't drive anywhere (ie offroad) with a higher idle at the same time?

Do you have this installed and running on your vehicle?
Do you find any problems with the computer sensing the change over between the 2 pedals?
Where did you install the hand control pedal? Any pics?

im still in the build, but the hand pedal contol is in a jiffy box, then a normal hand throttle cable to that pedal, so the box/ pedal can be mounted any where, pics will be a lil while off yet

im goin to try this first, to get the hand and foot goin at the same time, wont work as it would eliminate the need for a relay. in theroy you could hook the pedals up in parallel, and have both. but im after high idle for charging and for hydraulic winch. plus i have a dual tcase lefty, so i shouldn't need both hand and foot

this has me still thinking, Andy when you have high idle on and accelerate does it register a fault?
i may be able to run both pedals at the same (in parallel) or would the dual input play funny buggers?

Throttle pedal still works with high idle turned on. However if there is a fault in one of the circuits while driving it may cause problems, that why I switch mine so that its isolated.

just got a email from Rod (VMS), he said he can get the wiring harness that goes between the harness and the pedal, winning
