Dash Warning Light On when key turned off

Dash Warning Light On when key turned off

Postby mikevandongen on Tue, 19 Jun 2012 9:02 +0000

Had an unusual fault today in my 2004 Dual Cab 3.0 Turbo Diesel.

Washed the car last night and when we hopped in this morning the cabin fan was blowing and some of the warning lights were illuminated on the dash before i'd put the key in the ignition. Started fine and drove for 30 mins to make sure all was working. When I shut down and removed the key the same warning lights were illuminated and the fan could be turned on with the key removed. The warning lights that are on when the key is removed turn off as soon as the key is turned on.... I have a dual battery set up with a Redarc isolator.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Mike

Mine is having the same issues, though it's my headlights and dash lights that are coming on. I think it's something to do with the ignition barrel, because even though the lights are on, the buzzer isn't coming on, until I turn it to parkers. I have spoken to toyota and they say it may be something to do with the back, electrical part of the barrel. How many kms on your ute?
