AUX port on sat nav- 2008 SR5

Postby Joegas on Tue, 27 Mar 2012 5:46 +0000

Hey guys,

New on here, so go easy...

I bought a 2008 SR5 not long ago. it came with a flash looking sat nav, stacker, bluetooth, handsfree, head unit. But there is no bloddy aux port? But there is an AUX button on the head unit. Does anyone know if there is a port or wire on the back i can plug into?

Cheers
Joe

Mitch : nah ebay specials mate! hahah

I'm not sure if they look OK or not, maybe a bit tacky? I dunno.

One of many things I bought for my lux, usually 3/4 smashed and using the eBay app on my iphone << trouble.

turns out i was missing two cables

Qwerty, there is a blue port on the back of the head unit, if you have a cable plugged into this blue port, then all you need is the aux port connection from toyota or fujitsu ten. If you dont have the cable there you will have to buy one from toyota for 80 bux

I was lucky toyota had one laying around and they gave it to me, so all i needed to buy was the aux port from toyota, 67bux...

any chance you could photograph the cable / parts mate or too big an ask? might use it to persuade my yota dealer ... who are normally clueless on most things.

its ridiculously easy, just take your fan knobs off, undo one screw under the middle fan switch, then just pull the plastic centre off your dash from the top near the trip computer. then just four 10mm bolts holding the unit in.

you dont have to pull it out to check though, just take your glovebox out and stick your head in there and you can easily see the bright blue port on the back, if there is something plugged into it, your in luck.

Joe : Fujitsu told me that part 135140 is a CABLE, that they can provide for $60 ex gst. ($88in gst delivered to WA)

They said the ADAPTER i need to get from toyota directly, part number 86190-53010 , which is $90
Seems at odds with what you said?

Toyota just confirmed the ADAPTER they can provide (part : 86190-53010) for $60inc locally (twisted an arm).

The Cable i must order from Fujitsu Ten (part 135140) for $88inc delivered.

$148 just so i can plug in an ipod. Cheaper and easier than alternative of ripping whole deck out I suppose!
