rev counter conversion

i have just converted my 1995 2L hilux with a 2006 1kd engine it in all good runing well does any one no how i can covert the rev conter to work. at the mo i have a wire i hooked up out of my rev counter connect to the ecu but it reading to low how can i get it to read right?

You might need the back of the 1KD rev counter to work with the signal from the ECU/ pump for the revs. ( or play around with one till you find the right electrical load that corresponds to the revs/ signal for your tach)

Dont mean to hijack your thread, but could you share some info on the 1kd swap ?

Bell housing, gearbox, wiring, engine mounts, radiator, mods to the accessories - power steering pump and AC?

Check out the jaycar speedo corrector. It can also rectify Tach signals.
