head butted a 300mm rhick conrete post.

bull bar was touchin the wheel and reckon it will need a new tie rod end

only 50km but the concrete post (which was about 1400mm long and 400mm into the ground) ended up 20m away from where i hit it

yeah didnt even feel it, the bar took the whole impact

id say with out the bar, the front wheel wold be sitting next to the back wheel.

i had another look at the concrete post i hit today and i didnt knock it out of the ground, i snapped it and it was 400 mm thick

insurance given the ok :D

well getting a brand new steel bar, winch compatable and all that stuff, but i reckon ill sell/ swap the bar for an xrox bar because i like the look of them on this model hilux 8-)

yer mate, they just getting the front end right (they have it for 2 weeks so far) then will be new gaurd, bonnet, bull bar, flares, paint, and back in my drive way :D

definately getting one if i can sell the new bar im getting for my bus.
(which will be a brand new, tjm steel bar, winch compatable, and all the other mounts -so ill be after $1000)

you can just drill a couple holes in the plate on the bar mate ;) or ive seen aerials mounted on the tub just behind the cab, nice and safe there 8-)

you could buy a couple bolt on tabs they sell at autobarn or auto one etc.

same protection to the front as a normal steel bar except headlights and a little bit less under the wings of the but but give better approach angle and much lighter
