Its a 2000 SR5 Turbo Diesel Hilux

My first car was a 83 2.2d hilux, then a 95 2.8d hilux, a lemon of a patrol, then I went back to the mighty hilux's
Dad bought it brand new, and was going to sell it with 420,000kms on the clock.
But as it has been looked after sooo well, and hadnt missed a beat, I HAD to have it.
It has just ticked over 530,000kms and is still going strong with original motor, turbo, injector pump, diffs, transfercase. The gearbox was rebuilt at 350,000kms.
It has done a lot of kms, but long traveling mainly, as it was dads work car, and he used to drive a bit.
I had had it all over the vic high country, simpson desert, central australia, darwin, kakadu, and its been great!

The goodies include;

A 2in HD Ironman Suspension - with a 4H Cougar airbag assit kit
110ltr LRA Long range tank
ARB Bullbar (Colour coded to flairs)
ARB Canopy
ARB Roofrack
ARB Turbo Timer
Alarm
Lightforce 170s - With a 4H Cougar 55w 6000k HID kit fitted to them
31in Cooper ATRs / 31in Maxxis Trepadors
Safari Snorkel
Outback Overhead console with Uniden UHF
Engel fridge and fridge slide
Dual battery system with Redarc isolator
Pioneer MP3 player
600w invertor
CarPC setup - [i]under-the-seat 12v computer hooked up to a 10.4in touchscreen, mainly used for navigation offroad using Ozi/i]
Rear work lights

Plans in the future are:
Side and rear bars
and rear draws.

Heres a few pics.

Very nice rig there Luxy. It's seen a lot of km's and a lot of country. Tough as! I like the colour of your bar and flares.

What are your plans with the future mods? Custom or off the shelf? I assume the new barwork colour will match the rest.

HI Maddog, thanks for the compliments, yeah, she is a great old girl, and surprising how it just keeps going.
Hopefully it continues to be kind to me for a while yet!

Probably go for a homemade rear drawer setup and a custom bar work, which I will get them sprayed in the same grey to match the bullbar and flares.

I like the old girl.

She looks good and has been a faithful servant. What more could we ask for?

haha nah mate, no sas kit going into it, might put some lockers on her, but not going to over the top with it.
It goes pretty well at the moment, and if you pick your line and think about where to drive it, it keeps up with the bigger cars well. Anyone can get up a track with all the flash mods and big tyres etc, I prefer to show up the bigger patrols and crusiers etc in the little lux on 31s.
And maaaan do they hate it when I get up stuff, when they winch up after not paying attention driving a track and stuff up there line completely!!

Havent been on here much, family life has held me down a bit, but these things happen! :D

The ol' lux is still going, just clocked over 640,000kms the other day 8-)
This year I made a new years resolution to get out at least once a month, and so far I have!
Its been great to put the little stick back into low range and get off the black stuff and away for some good country air from time to time.

Since my last update it did another big trip through central australia, simpson desert etc in 2011, but nothing really till this year except for a trip here and there.
This year I have been to Walhalla a few times, Billy Goats out of Dargo a couple, Craigs Hut, and recently to Cobaw, which was great fun on the bigger ruts and rocks, testing the mighty hilux out a bit, but it came through with flying colours... even if I did have a few butt clinching moments!

Heading over to Tassie next month, so im looking forward to that!

Not a real lot has changed on it, although a couple of things I had added are;

Warn Winch
29" LED Bar
Tigerz side awning
ONROAD TYRES: 31" Silverstone AT117s
OFFROAD TYRES: 31" Silverstone MT117 Sports
