Bought a few of those narva twin led rocker switches. Wired em up yesterday arvo and was going good till I got to the driving lights. I've got a lightforce harness on em which doesn't have an earth for the switch. To get all the LEDs to work, it needed a constant 12v feed to operate it. They all work fine, but I was just wondering how other people fixed theirs? ImageImage

Bud, mine did the same. The switches were always illuminated. Dunno if its true or not, just going off what a mate told me, but it worked - Apparently because Toyota are really awesome, the Hilux is wired oppositely to all other cars (not sure if its just hilux or all Toyotas). Anyway so what I've done is switch around the wires on the back so that the switch is turned off when the button is down (which would normally be on) and then it would illuminate and turn on when you flick the switch up (which would usually be turned off)

If you don't want your narva switches illuminated all the time send the 12v+ to a lighting signal, that way they only illuminate when you turn on your head lights. I run the 12v+ from parkers/switch illumination to an activation relay, the negative comes from hi/low switching, the 30 and 87 then provide the signal to the relays on the spots/led bar......

works for me as I didn't want them lit up all the time.

A P Platers 'Official' Build

Postby Jesse98 on Mon, 01 Aug 2016 9:56 +0000

So had a bit goin on recently. Just school and work really. Done a few things to the old girl, just maintenance mainly. Put a small cargo net behind the seat to hold straps and other gear. Changed the cv boots the other week, pretty straight forward. Just a bit of friggin around. Making a bit of headway on the canopy, frames all done with the legs Workin well, just gotta get it painted and sheeted. ImageImage
Got bogged a couple of weeks ago, nothing too serious but a patrol pulled me out, pretty embarrassing.

Anyway I'll try and keep the thread updated as I go. New bar comin soon, as well as a winch. Xrox with a smittybuilt hopefully.

Got a UHF the other day and fitted him up. Went for the compact one as I didn't know where to put the screen of a normal one. Image

Fitted the spare to the headboard as well as the hi lift Image

Did a bit of a custom job on the exhaust as well. 2.5" straight through that dumps just before the diff. Nearly needs a muffler to take a bit of the fluffing sound out but you can hear the turbo nearly the whole way through, big improvement from the stock system
