So about few years back, I left Southern California for Jakarta.

A bit information about cars and trucks in Indonesia.
Vehicles is taxed based on engine sizes.
For engine that is larger than 3.0 lire, the tax is a bit more...thus explained why manufactures here tend to offered cars that are bellow 3.0.

Unlike other South East Asian countries, we only have the following version in 2010:
- 2.7 L petrol
- 2.5 L turbo diesel without an intercooler....about 101 hp. 0 to 60 mph was very soloed.

In other South East Asian countries, the 3.0 L turbo diesel with intercooler was available.

After having the truck for less than 1 year, I could not stand the sluggishness.

Time for modification to the 2KD-FTV engine.

Since there were no Intercooler version available in Indonesia....I start searching for a factory intercooler
After a while...I found one in ebay for less than $100 :)

should be simple right to bolt the top mount intercooler?

I was wrong...

Things that I have to modified:
- AC piping
- turbo position -> from facing down to facing up....I have to rotate the housing 180 degrees :o
- brackets...brackets.....made numerous custom brackets were made

After all of that I have to modified the hood also for the scoop so that the intercooler can get air.

So...after about 1 month, I managed to make the truck a bit more drivable.
It was packing 101+ hp....I believe about 120 hp.

and...I let the need for more power....so I visit one of the local tuner who is specialized in diesel tuning.

First was to add a Piggyback from Thailand called "Monster Max KD"...this tuned the engined....the truck was dyno and the result was 168 hp @ 4,000 RPM...not bad.

All of the hoses that were custom made because the position of the turbo in correlation to the top mount intercooler was not the same as that of the 2KD-FTV with the intercooler from the factory.

To think of it.... this was one of a kind conversion; therefore, all the parts with the exception of the factory intercooler and the hood....all were custom made by Silikon Motorsport.

Incase anyone interested...I still kept the parts :)

Not long after all the work we have done to the truck.....the truck was involved in pile up...and we are smack in the middle.
So....front and rear are squashed :(
