This is what it looked like when i purchased it
Image

Took it to the beach for a day
Image

Added Lightforce Genesis Spotties and Sportsmaster sidesteps
Image

Bought some second hand Bridgestone M/T 31x10.5x15's on ROH sunnies with -26 offset. they had only done 2500k's, and got them for a bargain, heres the test fit
Image

Image

As the tyres were to wide and large, installed was a 2" Toughdog lift kit including foam cell shocks, heavy duty torsion bars, comfort rear springs, greesable shackles, u bolts, steering dampner, and a bush kit. also had some flexi flares installed. Heres some pics with it all done

Heres a picture of my car next to my mates surf
Image

Took it for a bit of a play
Image

Image

Installed a CD/Ipod player as i was over listening to the radio haha
Image

I had to cut the sidesteps as they wrapped around under behind the mud flap, so i cut them with a hacksaw and poped the end cap back on.
Image

Image

Image

Image

After months of negotiation with the aftermarket shop which installed my lift and flares about their quality of workmanship, they finally came through in the end. i was greatly disappointed in the quality of the flexi flare install, it looked as though it was a 2 minute slap job done by a child. it was incredibly deflating to see, especially because i saved for the lift and flares for 6 months. they installed fibreglass flares free of charge. the flares are currently getting colour matched.
Image

Image

Image

I then got a snorkel installed by TJM. can anybody tell me if the plastic part in the engine bay is meant to be there? i was told that it is a silencer, but i would like it removed to create room for a second battery, is there any disadvantage in me doing this?
Image

So currently i am building rear drawers for my tub, have the box section done, just trying to brainstorm up an idea of how to attach it. also i am getting the fibreglass flares sprayed. i am looking into a few mods to be done in a month or so, so keep posted :D

Nice looking unit mate, nice and tidy

The silencer on the snorkel (the plastic bit under the bonnet) makes a hell of a difference - remove it and you'll swear you were powered by Massey Fergusson!!

Got some work done over the weekend. Fixed some little annoying issues i had, just a few more things i can do, but they can wait till the next service.

Have done some work on my drawer system, im ready for the drawer slides (trying to find ones under $250 is becoming difficult) but thats on hold for a little while as i have booked in for a outback roof console and TX4500 GME radio. This will be installed after easter.

I still have a few weeks untill my uhf and roof console is in, i tell you what tho...I am looking forward to it!
Once that is done and my drawers are in, i am concidering getting a rear wheel carrier (either 1x wheel carrier and 1x jerry can, OR 2x wheel carrier)
Anyway just wondering what brands are good value for money? I live in SA, so i have thought about kaymar, but i think i can only get a single wheel carrier for 2,700... Is there anything a little better priced?

Had the UHF and Roof Console installed today. i am really stoked with it! TJM really impressed me with the quality of work done on everything so far, and i will happily shop there in the future.
Installed is the the TX4500 on an outback roof console, and an areal. The LED's have amasing output inside the cabin at night, i was quite amased.
Attached is some pictures, also a picture i took whilst airing up after a run at Goolwa.
Let me know what you think
Cheers, Matt

Love this rig mate. So looks like mine and going the same kind of route too. I have the trayback though and currently running without the sides so it looks comp!! Your wheels make me want to paint up my white sunraysia's black! Also going to look into that snorkel silencer, mine is a safari brand.

I like the overhead console. I looked into these too, however couldn't find one to do what I wanted. I had no need for the UHF up there and don't like the cord hanging and swinging. I am in the middle of building my own! I am mounting 6 rocker switches up here for the compressor, front and rear lockers, spotties, rear spots and 12vdc power. Keep an eye on my build thread as some photos coming soon!

Yeah Tdog i have seen your rig a lot. Especially on the 4x4earth site. (my names south_maw on that, i gave u the heads up about the side steps fouling) really like what you have done!
My old man was also in the market for a plain overhead console but found nothing. I have mounted a cord holder up there which gets the cord out of the way. So that it is not swinging around, i can put a picture up tomorrow if you like?

Hi guys
Will be hoping into making the drawers system in a few weeks. Ive got the plans any everything sorted, just trying to fix a leek in the tub and then gather all the materials together. For attaching the drawer im thinking about using 6 or 8mm bolts with a big square 30x30mm washer, spring washer and nilock nut. Also thinking about wacking on some silicone on between the ute body and 30x30 square washer.
Ill put up pictures and a build process when its finished.
Cheers

Hi all,
Have finally had some time to start my drawer system. with months of planning and investigating which timber, fixtures, design and how to attach the system, i am stoked with the current outcome.
I have not finished it yet, there is still much more to do, but atleast its a start.
this is what it currently looks like. Got stuck into the carpeting today, so i am just waiting for that to dry and then i can continue on.
I shall make a build process once it is complete.
Let me know what you think.
cheers

Drawers are all finished and carpeted, just need to attach them and finish bits like the side pannels.
I will post up a picture once it is complete.
I am thinking about swapping my tyres for some 265/75/16's on 16x8's but im not sure weather ill have any scrubbing or not? Should i run 0 offset on the rims? Whats appropriate to fit these?

should be fine mate. may need to slightly wind your torsion bars up if they do touch :)
