I got an idea today during my QCS exam today, because ive got 4meters of that led strip light left i was thinking becasue the roof light in the hilux doesnt do alot for your footwells when you trying to find something on the floor at night :x , about putting some strip lights at each footwell and connecting it up to a relay and switch thats connected to the door light. :geek:

I also was thinking about getting one of these for the roof light http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Landcruiser-80-100-200-LED-Interior-Light-PANEL-/220761593072?_trksid=p3907.m8&_trkparms=algo%3DMW%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D12%26po%3DLCA%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D2422547284196095559 a mates got one and its made a massive difference.

Has any one done anything like this before in a hilux? Should i spend a saturday wiring up some leds or should i just go with 25$ light on ebay and see if its gonna be bright enough?

Thanks, Stuart

mate u wont need a relay for LED the current draw is that low that you can run them straight off the power for the interior light

o ok i just thought if i had a switch and relay as well, like the spotties, it would allow me to turn them on whenever i wanted to but would automatically turn on when the door opened? not really sure how the relays work though?

i relay is effectively a switch for i high current draw that is switched by power through another switch...its a small solenoid....

for your LED strips i would be running the power from your interior light but also put a switch in there...so they can only be on when the interior light is on but can also be turned off when its on...coz your really only gonna want them on when the interior light is already on

Just got back from straddie and during a drive yesterday on one of the tracks the check engine light came on so i looked over at the temp and it was past the red zone, i pulled over waited for a long time and then opened the radiator (carefully) and long and behold there was 0 water/coolant in it.. I think if i had kept driving that would have been the end of the 2.7. I filled it up with water and kept going, further down though the track i noticed a little increase in temp so i pulled over again and topped it up. Since then ive driven home and around straddie without any more problems. Not sure what i should do now, there were metal flakes in the water when i filled it up so im thinking the pump might be damaged. Any one got any ideas?
Thanks,
Stuart

there was a bit of a mess around the radiator, the oil and motor seam to be ok though. Haven't seen anymore water leaking on the ground now its at home though and its used about 500ml since i refilled it. When i bought it the radiator was checked and it was fine so it must have been something ive done to it..

Thanks, shes getting looked at in two weeks, will be interested if he finds anything wrong.

Ive got a few k saved up and thinking about spending a bit on her. Really keen to make her flex a bit more and to be a little nicer over the bumps, i was thinking about a 2inch EFS Comfort lift or something. I was also wondering what the coppers would think of it with me being on p's and running a 4inch lift :) .

What do you guys think?

Cheers,
Stuart
