Ive got a few k saved up and thinking about spending a bit on her. Really keen to make her flex a bit more and to be a little nicer over the bumps, i was thinking about a 2inch EFS Comfort lift or something. I was also wondering what the coppers would think of it with me being on p's and running a 4inch lift :) .

What do you guys think?

mate i would just go a 2 inch lift coz that should easily allow a 33 inch tyre, thatll keep the centre of gravity low to the ground while still giving good clearance, also if u do get a defect its as simple as swapping tyres to make it legal again...unless u wanna make the lux a mall crawler, then go the 4 inch...

my bad i was meaning just a 2 inch suspension lift with the 2inch body lift its already runnin to get the 4inch overall to fit the 33s play tyres. The main reason why i was thinking about the lift was so i could get rid of the HD suspension in it...and allow it to flex more

I just did my BL, but prior I installed lift shackles for the rear and wound up the torsion bars. Some suggest ball joint spacers for the front, but the TB wind up works well enough for me for the time being...

well i changed my mind a bit, orderd a XROX bar for it. Try and make it a bit more tuff looking... :twisted:
3 Week wait so just in time for LCMP during schoolies week :shock: . Plans are to get rid of the chrome rear bar, get some slidders, put a pair of spotties on, put the muddies on and head to LCMP during schoolies 8-)

defs get sliders before you go...i learnt my lesson...tho cost of repairs basically equalled the cost of the sliders if i bought some and didnt take ages to make them myself

ive got a idea in my head but ive no idea how to describe it, but ill try, i was thinking about using the same size tubing on the xrox bar, bending it on each end and welding that to a long bit of RHS running from front to back, to that have 3 mounts comming off and U clamping it onto the chassis with some bolts to hold it there. The RHS wouldnt be flat though i would twist it to match the sills. Not to sure if it makes much sense and i have no idea if it will work but its a starting point

Got a bit bored today so i decided to take off the Nudge Bar for the new one hopefully comming late this week and Rear Bar cause it got caught up on everything last time i went out for a play.

Still left the mounting plates on from the bar, they didnt want to budge so i figured i would just wait till the bar came.

Cant decide what to get for the hilux :| tossing up between a

Front auto lokka or
Snorkle and filter box (K&N POD Filter replaced the box :cry: ) or
LED bar and HIDs for the XROX or
Tigerz11 12000lb Winch or
Dual battery system or
UHF (got a handheld though)

Still want to get the rock sliders but im thinking ill wait till i destroy the sidesteps on it. Also thinking i need to get some diff breathers. What would you guys do??

you 100%need a UHF...and get sliders before you do a sil like i did then have to pay to fix it which ends up costing what a set of sliders are worth anyways

forgot to mention i had a 5w handheld that ive been using...not mine though but i can use it when ever. Do you know anyone that could fabricate a pair of sliders?

I would say for the first few things get the snorkel and filter box, diff breathers and sliders. Just cause that'll protect you from most things. I don't think lockers would be needed until you get all that stuff anyway.

Found out im getting a Icom IC-400 pro with the AE4012K2 for chrissy :D . Still got the handheld for the meantime though. Still working out how to get a pair of sliders for less than 800$ :?: About to order a Airbox tomoz but having troubles getting a snorkle. Might try calling ARB tomoz just for something to compair with. Anyone recommend anyone around Brisbane that installs and has snorkles? Thanks for the ideas

Nice looking rig mate. Diff breathers are cheap to buy but cheaper to make, and a must to keep dirty mud outa ya diffs! Lights would look good for ya front bar when ya get it, but a 1200lb winch would look better, i've used my winch a fair few times but thats only after the 33MTZ's and the front and rear locker couldnt get me throw the mud or up the rock steps, but clearance is a big thing, so thats where sliders come in to play if you havent got it. From what you described about the ones you want to make should work a treat. I need to pull my finger out and make a set for mine as i have been caught up a few times on the steps and they just look shit compared sliders! As for the taking the leaf out its abit of a gamble but many a people have done it, join 4wd action website and theres heaps of info,
