hi all, im currently in the process of finding myself an sr5 to buy. I think i have found what im after just trying to find out if i should stick with the 15" rims with an off road tire on them or put a 17" rim on it again with mtr's

the car i am looking at getting needs a tires for the roady, and i thought id save some money up front and get something decent.

car will not see the beaten track all that much.

If all goes well by sunday night i will have put up the link to my new ride...

However this is my other car, 09 fg xr8 with lots of special stuff,

Welcome to the forum Justin. If you have a poke around there is a lot to be read on wheel / tyre combos but probably the most common used is a 16 inch rim setup although there is nothing wrong with using the 15's as you will also see here.
I would say most have not gone down the 17 inch route due to the tyres being more expensive and not as common but that is changing as it becomes more of the norm.
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

Welcome aboard Justin.

Are you getting a new SR5 or used?

Looking at an 05 sr5 that is pretty well kitted up minus diff locks, and has only been off road twice haha. Will explain the story behind it another time

Yeah I understand what your saying about the cost, the 16" rims would still be an improvement over the 15" rims for on road handling,
