Welcome mate.

Have a good look around , there is plenty of information here. ;)
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

How far North are you planning when you say North Queensland in January as it is the wet season so a lot or the roads are closed at that time of year.

Don't worry too much about the HSC, it only gets worse from there after ;)

When you do get your 4B it's probably worth getting some training before you take on too much. A lot of 4WD clubs do training that is as good as if not better than the courses you pay $$$ for.

Yea I saw that during my reading of other peoples trips, Its not to far north, just to do some nice sand driving on their beaches up there. I used to go to anna bay with the family in our Mitsu Pajero so im keen to get back into the dunes.

Defiently going to get some 4wd training, its a dangerous activity and I'll need all the training and skills i absorb haha.

Don't go to Nth QLD for beach driving, a dugong might tear an axle out
