Hi all,

Was getting abit disheartened by not finding many people who were running the new Hilux, that was until afew days ago when i found this site. and all i can say is this is what i've been looking for.

So yeah im a young bloke from the south west of WA and i drive a white 08 dual cab SR hilux. its going to be more set up as a tourer than anything but i would like to make it capable of doing some of the harder stuff too.

My ute isnt much compared with some of the beast's on this site but its still my toy car (mine and the banks anyway).

Some pics:
Day i picked it up

after i had the Snorkel, 2" tough dog lift, CSA Stampede rims 16"x7", Cooper ATR's (meant to be ST's), LightForce 240's, and a red arc dual battery set up.

Winch prob a Premier one
long range tank
some meatier tires

and some underbody protection

the father inlaw is a fitter/ welder (class one or some rubbish) so he's going to help/teach me how to do the sliders, underbody protection and fit the bull bar and winch.

Hey bud, I'm a w.a boy too, there isn't anything wrong with ATR's I have them and they rated very well on the tyre review in 4wd action issue 146. They got highest overall for sand which I see you do a bit of. Taken my banger out to Duke of Orleans and A Bay a few times, nice fishing and 4x4 fun.
Welcome aboard!

G'Day from Perth! We might be heading down to explore the Pemberton area next weekend.....

Yep I became adicted after getting involved it this forum..... Hurts the bank balance a bit but it's worth it everytime I look at or drive my truck. Just ordered a bud custom Bash plate 1 minute ago.....

Have fun and welcome to the forum.
Cheers

8-) Awesome. Guess we'll see all this in your shed in the upcoming months. Your right though, it's adictive, but any mod junkie can't do much without funding.

That track in that photo in Pemberton looks familiar, I think thats the one I always go flying through at the speed of light. j/k.

Good luck with it all. I put a photo of my pile of new mods in my shed, but your one up on me, I'm still waiting for mine to come into the country.

Cheers,

Shaker.

Mind you this was my last Hilux and i decided to go down a closed track !!!!!!
was going good till i hit this bog hole luckly i found some cut timber which i used with the bottle jack to lift the car and prop it up while i put fallen timber underneath the tyre to drive out on.

Stanga - yeah that would have been my old girl at krikke's, the rust was the main reason i had to give her away, but that motor she had in here was nearly bomb proof after a rebuild we did on it, rebuilt turbo, new chromeoly pistons, etc, cost me about 6 grand.

Shaker - that pic from down pemby way is out near moons crossing. i'd have abit more play money for the ute but we just got $2000 vet bill for the Fiance's horse so its on the back burner, but i do have permission for my mods yay.

cadeo2010 - plenty of place's to wet a line down pemby, all depends on the sort of water you like. Salt water: warren beach, yeagerup, etc. Fresh water pretty much any where. for 4x4ing i grew up on the coast side of pemby and all the place's i gone driving was seen a bush track and just followed it. for camping all depends what youve got and what you want, there's the caravan park or any where in the bush, but saying that it is pemby so it will probually be wet. you might be surprised with the old boys pies i nearly choked on the first one i had, it actually had some meat in it.

from a tourist point of veiw i really like Big Brook dam just for the scenery and that sorta stuff, there's some fish in there too, if im free wouldnt mind going for a drive with ya

jogal - where abouts did you get stuck looks like you did a good job of it

I won't.

I've got the Tough Dog kit also. The rear is a bit tight with no weight, other than that it seems fine. I had a bilstein kit on a Navara, this seems a bit smoother than that was.
