Back to a Hilux after a 4 1/2 year absense

Postby Mal.W on Sun, 31 May 2009 12:33 +0000

Hi All,
Just thought I would say hello. I have been reading lots of posts over the past couple of months.
Bought a 2007 SR D/C diesel manual on April fools day ( Hope that's not an omen ) She's an Ex Gippsland Water vehicle.
Toyota Steel bullbar and winch, Toyota (ARB) canopy and 16 x 7 Sunrasia Wheels. Stepping out of a 1999 Defender TD5 diesel/gas, with lots of good bits and starting from scratch again. Had a 1984 Hilux D/C 2.4 diesel for 12 years prior to the Defender. Took me around Australia in 1994 and many other places in WA ( CSR etc ) while I was living in the West.

Hope to get out with some of you guys after I have done a few mods, ( Suspension, snorkel, breathers, FUG's), but need to sell the Defender to get the play money together.

Cheers

Welcome aboard Mal, there is lots of fun and information to be had here.

I won't say welcome back from the dark side as I am a big Landrover fan as well.

On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

Like Alby said welcome aboard mate. Will be great to see you out on the trails with members on forum trips.
The NSW group run a two day recovery course up at Jenolan, includes accomodation. It is highly recommended and endorsed by Alby himself.
Cheers
