Hi All,

Looking at buying my third Hilux soon. Originally started with a Manual 2000 SR5 3.0LTD, loved that car. 2" body 2" lift on 33's with all the goodies.

Currently I have a 2010 SR5 Auto. More family orientates 2" lift on 32" with al the general touring extras. Great car but I was surprised how bad downhill descents are off-road.

Spend most of my time when 4x4 and camping in the Vic High Country.

Will be looking soon for a 2016-2019 Manual SR5.

Interested to know if there are any major differences between the first gen N80 and the next facelift (2018 i think). Any particular things i should look out for?

Thanks,
Steve.

Nothing really major in the facelift.

Mechanically they are the same engine and powertrain etc. only the end of 2020 did they get the power upgrade.

End of 17 the facelift got a couple of minor tweaks
If you paid extra for leather seats in the SR5 they now came with a seat heater.
The tailgate has a manual lock previous to this no lock.
They are the only obvious things I remember (I bought June 17 so was curious what I missed out on and I wasn’t disappointed).

The biggest thing you will find at the moment is the simple supply and demand issue. New cars have over 10 month waitlist which has driven both stock and modded car prices through the roof so be prepared for the prices to be a bit crazy.

The other thing is any decent product have huge waitlists also. ARB TJM etc they are all running on short supply of stocks.
So either be prepared to wait or be prepared to pay a premium as the market is nuts.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I agree with pricing. I am prepared to wait though.
I am wanting to find one with full bar work, canopy and rack, lifted etc.
