Yep I should've bought a 265 charger too but as I said, family commitments :D I chose my beautiful sexy wife over ANY car and she's still with me after 50 years! The Phoenix was a great US muscle car and I was lucky to own one! Unfortunately it was sandwiched between a stopped 10 ton truck and an idiot in an old EJ looking at the scenery at 60kph on the Shoalhaven River bridge and bent in half :( Almost killed my wife and new baby. I bet the right off was sold to a race boat owner!
I can't remember the HG but I think 70.

I meant which GT-HO at Bathurst?

HG will be 1970 or 1971. Most 308 Premier got a 2.78 or 3.08 banjo but some had a 3.36 Salisbury same as 81837 cars. I wrecked a couple of these for rear axle and dash wood grain.

Can't remember the HG much but I think 70, a mate had the 327 GTS and always admired it... Not many produced but great muscle! Yellow but once again, family commitments. Single mates had XU1's but I was out of the scene by then. Then an XB 302 panel Van... Yellow GS. As a single guy I had a corolla sprinter and passed a copper in a mini cooper S on the Hume Highway at 110 mph downhill and he let me go, probably couldn't believe he's been blown off by a corolla!
I foolishly let a stupid mate drive my HG and he asked me what happens if you select P at highway speeds? Bang! Is what happens! :( Then a plethora of cars and bikes since the 'good old days' and now a sedate Hilux and Aurion with a corolla for shopping.
At the end of the 70's I had a tricked up red Celica fastback with all the bells and whistles but another victim of a stupid driver who hit me head on on the highway out of Nowra.

Oh, the gtho, private guy who was later killed, sad times for me :( I was probably saved by family commitments :D

I currently have a Warwick Yellow GTS327 as a project and another Warwick Yellow V8 HK GTS I’m modernising currently.

Both are currently the oldest known to exist HK V8 GTS’s. 2nd GTS327 from Pagewood (Sydney) and 20th GTS from Pagewood.

wish i could get my shed up, a few nice old photos. can't go back though, but i have no regrets. all those old times are distant memories now. the old brain cells just aren't what they once were :( too many sad memories so i blanked a lot out :( oh, not many know that the phoenix/chrysler royal was a local production, ckd crated from the US and built by chrysler oz

Hemi dodge motors were the best hotrod engines in their day... the 318 was a cheaper way to get horsepower than the larger engines. the jeep 4.7 v8 was a development from there and still a great mill.

Finally got the phoenix on my shed but the others need shrinking
