Im about to pick up my second Hilux after decades being a 2001 3L Diesel dualcab for a second car.....174000ks, seems to be really well looked after.
Would love to hear any opinions or advice.

Doesn't sound like a bad rig at all. I drove them for work back in the day when they were new... I never had any problems with them.
